Political Action Committee (PAC)

EchoStar/DISH’s PAC pools contributions from eligible employee contributors,* enabling it to make donations to political candidates and committees. The PAC is a critical tool for the company's advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C., and if you are not contributing to the PAC, any donation amount is helpful. Becoming a PAC donor is easy by setting up a recurring payroll deduction amount in the “Benefits” section of HR Link. You can then return to HR Link at any time to stop/adjust your contributions (regardless of whether Annual Enrollment is in effect). You can also contribute by credit card, check, money order, or wire transfer. * Eligible employee contributors are those who are paid on a salary (rather than hourly) basis and also have policymaking or managerial/supervisory responsibilities (for example, an assistant with no direct reports is ineligible to contribute) AND/OR are in a commonly recognized profession (an attorney, accountant, engineer, etc.) You must also be a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted for permanent residence (in possession of a green card) to contribute.

 

Tuition Reimbursement

Tuition reimbursement is provided for courses offered by approved accredited institutions of learning such as colleges, universities or trade schools. All active, regular full-time employees are eligible at any time to submit a Part I Tuition Reimbursement for classes beginning on or after 90 days of employment. If you resign from DISH during your course, you are not eligible to receive tuition reimbursement.

Eligibility Requirements

The following requirements apply in order to receive tuition reimbursement:

  • Courses must be directly or reasonably related to your current position or a position you may achieve within the organization as agreed upon by the Company.
  • Courses must not interfere with job responsibilities and must be taken on your own time.
  • CLEP Exams, certificate programs and continuing education courses are not eligible for reimbursement.
  • You must be in “good standing” and receive an official grade of “B-” or better to receive reimbursement. Pass/Fail courses will not be reimbursed.

Eligible expenses include 75% tuition and book expenses (less grants, stipends, taxes and fees) up to $2,000 for hourly full-time employees and $5,000 for salaried full-time employees per calendar year. Fees are not eligible. Amounts over $2,000 are to be returned to DISH should you leave the company within 12 months of receipt of reimbursement. Certain highly compensated employees may not be eligible for reimbursement over $2,000.

Steps to Apply for Tuition Reimbursement

  1. The Tuition Reimbursement Part I Form must be completed and submitted in HR Link on or before the first day of class. You will receive notification from HR Link of the approval or denial of the Part I Form.
  2. The Tuition Reimbursement Part II Form must be completed and submitted in HR Link, with required documentation, within 90 days of class completion. Required documentation includes the official transcript, tuition and book receipts. You will receive notification from HR Link of the approval or denial of the Part II Form. 

Please note: The annual maximum tuition reimbursement amount will be applied against the year in which reimbursement is received regardless of when the form is submitted. The deadline for Part II submissions is typically in mid-December.

Employee Discount Directory

The Employee Discount Directory may be accessed through The HOP or from your home computer at www.dishemployeedeals.com using referral code HOPPER. Employee Referral Program (ERP)

DISH is always in search of great talent. Referring friends, family and associates to DISH for open, full-time positions could earn you additional income.

Important Details About the ERP

  • All employees are eligible to participate in this program except:
    • Corporate officers (director level and above).
    • An employee in the open position's leadership chain.
    • Talent Acquisition team members.
    • International offshore groups.
  • ERP only applies to external candidates who have not previously been employed by the Company.
  • There are no limits to the number of referrals you can make.
  • The full name of the referring employee must be on the referred employee's employment application.
  • The referred employee must not have been presented by an agency in the last 12 months; must be referred to a specific job at DISH.
  • Immediate family is not eligible to receive a bonus – legally married, mother, father, sister, brother, children.
  • If the referring and referred team members are both employed with DISH after 90 days, the referring team member will be paid up to $4,000 in the following tiered approach:

$1,000 - Frontline CXO, Direct Sales, Manufacturing & Distribution (Hourly)
$1.500 - IHS Technicians
$2,000 - Salaried roles, professional/experienced positions
$4,000 - Senior Manager roles, executive-level roles (Director +) and pre-approved critical positions

 

Direct Deposit

Direct deposit is a convenient, safe and reliable way to receive your paycheck. Direct deposit can be set up to go directly into one or more accounts or financial institutions exactly the way you choose. When choosing direct deposit, the money will be transferred into the account(s) you've specified at midnight on the Thursday of a payroll week.

Typically, it will take one to two payroll cycles before the transactions take place after signing up for direct deposit. Once direct deposit is set up, you will still have access to view your check stubs by logging into UKG. This can be accessed at https://dish.okta.com/ by logging in and clicking on the UKG icon. Your banking information is completely confidential.

At any time during the course of employment, you may choose to enroll or cancel your enrollment in direct deposit. At the time of termination, your last paycheck will be paid via direct deposit where available. Exceptions may apply.

To enroll in or change your direct deposit, log in to UKG from The HOP or visit https://dish.okta.com/ from a web browser at work, home, or your mobile device. Use your NT username and password to log in, click the UKG icon, and enter your NT Password again. New employees must have received one regular paycheck prior to logging in.

 

Employee Programming & Service Discounts

Just for being a DISH employee, you have access to some great discounts on the services we provide to our customers, including DISHscriber, SLINGscriber and INFINITEscriber benefits.

DISHscriber

DISH offers their employees the following DISHscriber benefits after they complete their first 30 days of employment:

After you’ve completed your first 30 days of employment, you will receive an email with all the information you need to sign up for the DISHscriber benefit. Click the “Sign Up” link below to get a certificate number. Once you have your certificate number, call 1-866-974-0493 and let the CSR assisting you know that you are a DISH employee.

INFINITEscriber

With the INFINITEscriber benefit, eligible employees receive the following:

  • A monthly $10 bill credit, meaning you’ll only pay $15/month for unlimited talk, text and data (including 5GB of hotspot data).
  • Boost Infinite costs $15/month/line. However, for your first month, you will be charged $25, but don’t worry, we will refund you $10 to the card associated with your account within 3-10 business days.

Who is Eligible?

  • All full-time and part-time DISH and Echostar employees are eligible on their first day of employment. Contractors are not eligible.
  • Account must be under the full name of the employee and the employee must include their full address on the Boost Infinite account.
  • There will only be one line allowed and that one line will receive the monthly credit.
  • Auto pay is required and the account may be suspended or disconnected for failure to pay.
  • If you no longer work for DISH, your INFINITEscriber account will be switched to a Boost Infinite account as a regular customer.
